Wonderful car! However it was repainted as the Trans Am emblem is two inches too low on the fenders and the fender exhaust grates are suppose to be flat black.

Hey Bill. Wow, this video brings back a lot of memories from the 80's and 90's. Why 90's? Because I bought soooooo many surplus police department 1982-1989 Plymouth Fury's and Dodge Diplomats in the 1990's. I was a dealer back then and taxi companies here in Virginia used the heck out of these. And sold cars to them. I always loved the reliable Mopar AC in the summer and heat in the winter. The 318 was slow and turning on a dime sucked. I preferred the 1980's and 90's Ford Crown Vic's. The Chevy Impala was a good police package car. I actually took a few ex police Fury's, went to the junk yard and pulled Fifth Avenue interiors and dolled up the Fury for resale LOL. Youth.....young, dumb and full of c .....! As we use to say then. Bill you and I are about the same age. I may be older by a year. Yes, everything these days has gone to heck. Wokes, snowflakes and delusional thinking is rampant. Prices are nuts as the Bidenomics messed up America. Anyway, sorry for rambling. Missed you brother. Mark in Virginia

Great to see you again. My grandpa had a Fury. Simple and reliable. Never had any issues with it. Didn't need a computer to work on it. They were the last hurrah of the old Chrysler. And I can't believe you missed the ashtray in the rear door

Hey! Larry! The bird loves you! HA! A few more things about the Fifth. First, you should always take the FIFTH, not your truck! Second, you mentioned it does not have an overdrive. Well it does have the intent of an overdrive because 3rd gear in the old TorqueFlite engages a lockup torque converter at about 44mph and the axle ratio is very tall at about 2.24:1, so a highway 75mph cruise gets decent 25 mpg. Chrysler was planning to discontinue the Fifth at the end of 1987 model year, but at the last minute was able to keep production going until early 1989. Another thing is that the driver air bag came in during the 1988 model year so there are later 1988 models that have the driver air bag and earlier 1988 model year cars do not. I agree 100% with you when the Fifth Avenue interior is burgundy red, the interior is like a Spanish Bordello! HA! There is no other car made in the past 40 years that has all the bling like this Fifth Avenue and in my opinion, is a pleasure to drive. I sold mine in 2002 to buy a new Town & Country because I needed it.

My dad had an 1985 Fifth Avenue and I loved driving it...when it wouldn't stall. It was comfortable and classy. Bill, you were missed. And, I agree - the world has gone crazy and are time cometh soon ;). But until then, I will watch your reviews.

Hey Bill! You are HIGH-LARRY-US! Hey! In 1993, I bought a 1989 Fifth Avenue used from Suburban Buick in Wheaton IL. I bought it for the wife to drive because it had a driver's side air bag. It was fun to drive, very comfortable, excellent driving position, reliable, quiet, and on the highway got decent gas mileage. You should keep it! Every time you go somewhere, TAKE THE FIFTH!!!!!

My parents had a silver with navy blue leather interior 1983 model. First car they bought as a couple. My paternal grandfather had a gun metal gray with light gray velour interior 1985 model. That was the last car he ever bought/drove. My grandmother would sit in the back passenger side seat & give him turn by turn directions everywhere they went like Driving Miss Daisy. Granddad would wash & wax it every Saturday so it would sparkle on their way to Sunday School. Unfortunately my dad sold the 1985 car before I was old enough to drive when granddaddy stopped driving. I’d love to have one of these!!

I had 83 and 85 Fifth Avenues, both easily held their own with other upscale vehicles I have owned in formal styling, plush velvet interiors, luxury, comfort, dependability and interior room! Wish I had kept one! Also, love aspirational names like Fifth Avenue. Like today's mundane vehicles, those names are sadly Gone With the Wind. Now, suggest you might go ON to VERSAILLES! 😉 My motto, Too Much is NEVER enough! 😊

To my eyes these cars looked like somebody installed the headlight assemblies upside down. It was never an attractive look IMO.

It was a pretty good car considering the period it was Made in it wasn't a power house but it got the job done and they rode nice and the interior was very good.
